Joe Mauer Statues - Minneapolis
In honor of the Minnesota Twins' 50th Anniversary, life-sized statues of 2009 American League MVP and Twin for life Joe Mauer are stationed all around downtown Minneapolis. Each statue represents a different season in the Twins' history. The statues contain photos, stats, Twins awards and other fun information about the year it represents. Food On A Stick
One of the greatest highlights of the Minnesota State Fair (and probably any state fair, though I've never been to any other) is the sheer variety of foods available on a stick. This album is dedicated to all the foods on a stick spotted at the 2010 Minnesota State Fair. There aren't many photos of the real life foods, since they all look the same once they've been breaded, battered and deep fried. All photos taken at the Minnesota State Fair on September 4, 2010.
50 Greatest Twins - Target Field
September 3, 2010. Target Field. Minneapolis, MN. On the first night of the Twins' 50th Season Celebration, the team honored the 50 Greatest Twins in history. Each of the honorees was featured in a short montage broadcast on the jumbotron. Thirty-four of the 50 players took the field during the ceremony, including Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Kent Hrbek, and current Twins Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Joe Nathan, as well as manager Ron Gardenhire. It was a privilege to be there for this very special night in franchise history. For more information about this special night and a list of the 50 Greatest Twins, see this article from Fox Sports North: www.foxsportsnorth.com/pages/twins_50_greatest/
